Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I had to read this 6th volume before the final one arrives in July. This one is a bit tedious with the adolescent angst and lack of action but it provided a welcome break from the non-fiction I've been reading.

The Lives of Others

Best movie in a long time. Sign up to get the DVD when it becomes available. It's a great film in every way.

Ripples of Battle

Victor Davis Hanson recounts three disparate, lesser-known battles to show how the emanations from each affected centuries of history in big and small ways. It's full of interesting content but I wish his writing had been subject to more rigorous editing. There is some repetition and meandering. Overall, a good read if you like history.
